AGBU Young Professionals of Los Angeles held two, casual movie-night

"The crowd laughed, cried, and cheered as they intently watched these bittersweet movies, in their native tongue,"

Pasadena, CA--The AGBU Young Professionals of Los Angeles held two, casual movie-night Sundays this past month at theAGBU Alex Manoogian Pasadena Center's outdoor terrace, affectionately referred to by regular attendees as "Bardez". On August 16, a group of 50 young professionals came together to watch "Tears of Happiness" (Yerchangoutyan Artzunkneruh), Sarky Mouradian's 1970's Armenian-classic, with English subtitles, starring Manuel. These young professionals also got together on August 23, to watch another of Mouradian's 1970's classics, "Promise of Love" (Seeroh Khosdoum).

"The crowd laughed, cried, and cheered as they intently watched these bittersweet movies, in their native tongue," says organizer, Rita Grigorian of AGBU YPLA. "I was amazed at the receptiveness of our attendees to watch these movies, which to some were familiar, and to others very new," Grigorian adds. Both movies represent a heightened reality and their themes pierce right to the core. The emotions are heartfelt and the performance of Manuel rings very true. Mouradian's movies accurately display the joys of love, uncertainty, and heartbreak, all culminating to an inevitable acceptance of fate, destiny, and kismet. The movies are engaging, surprising, and very moving. Surely, these are the types of movies that young professionals should discover, revisit often, and consistently savor.
